About the Basingstoke & Reading Circuit
The Basingstoke & Reading Methodist Circuit was launched on September 1st 2014, created from the former Basingstoke Circuit and the Reading & Silchester Circuits. We have pooled our rich resources of people with their gifts and talents, together with the experience and history of our churches to form this new Methodist Circuit in North Hampshire and South West Berkshire. The new Circuit covers an extensive geographic area and we have divided this area into three ministry teams as follows:
Central Reading and Caversham
This includes the following of our churches:
Caversham (Gosbrook Road), Caversham Heights, Caversham Park (LEP), Christ Church Woodley (LEP), Trinity Lower Earley (LEP), Wesley, Whitley, Woodley Airfield Church (LEP).
The people from our ministry team for this area are:
Revd Martin Beukes, Revd Jeongsook Kim (from Sept 2023), plus 2 ministers, Revd Dr James Mather and Revd Jon Salmon from our LEP churches.
West Reading
This includes the following of our churches:
Emmanuel, Tilehurst, Bradfield, Burnt Hll
The people from our ministry team for this area are:
Revd Helen Watson, Revd David Jenkins, Deacon Maria Howard, Lola Brown.
South and Central
This includes the following of our churches:
Burghfield Common, Christ Church Chineham (LEP), Kempshott (online only), Mortimer, Oakley, Oakridge, Old Basing, Silchester, St. Andrew's, Tadley Common, Tadley Main Road.
The people from our ministry team for this area are:
Revd Claire Simpson (from Sept 2023), Revd John Banks (from Sept 2023), Yvonne Hunt, plus Revd Jonathan Clark from our LEP churches.
